The Island of Capraia is the third largest of the Tuscan archipelago. It represents a site of great importance for its natural and environmental assets, being part of the Toscan archipelago national park and of the Pelagos Sanctuary for the protection of marine mammals in the Mediterranean. It lies some 50 km off the Tuscan coast and is reached by ferry boat, departing from Livorno.
